Hasselback Sandwich Loaf
Our Hasselback Sandwich Loaf is a warm, toasty, and cheesy delight that is perfect for sharing with friends and family. This dish brings people together, making it an ideal choice for gatherings and casual get-togethers.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 loaf of unsliced Italian bread
- Deli meat (ham, roast beef, turkey, salami)
- Sliced cheese (Swiss, Cheddar, Havarti, Provolone)
- 1/2 cup of softened butter
- 1/2 cup of any Tait Farm Mustard
Slice the bread into 1/2" to 1" sections just part way, careful not to slice all the way down, and into an even number of slices. Each two slices will become a sandwich. Place the loaf on a large sheet of foil.
Stir the butter and mustard together. Spread the mixture in between every other “pocket”; keeping in mind that these will eventually be be cut apart into sandwiches.
Tuck a slice of meat and cheese into each “pocket”.
Slather some of the leftover butter mixture on the top and sides of the loaf. Wrap in foil. At this point you can refrigerate the loaf or bake it. To bake, place loaf on a baking sheet and open the foil up to expose the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15- 20 minutes or until the top is crusty and the cheese has melted. (timing depends on whether the loaf is cold at the start)
Makes approximately 8 sandwiches
